Adorable 5-Year-Old Girl Raises Over $10,000 And Knows Exactly Who To Give It To

Things are really simple when seen through the eyes of a child.

For example, when something looks like fun to a kid, you can rest assured that they’ll want to join in on the fun.

The same applies in reverse: When a child feels frightened, they’re going to steer clear, right?

But children also rely on their instincts, and the overanalysis portion of the program doesn’t kick in until they get older.

An awesome example of that has come to light from California. A five-year-old girl named Faye Segraves is the daughter of a firefighter, and one adorable philanthropist.

Wildfires have been wreaking havoc in the region, and it has taken an immense toll on the brave men and women tasked with fighting the blazes, as well as their families.

Faye became aware of the fact that an Escondido firefighter named Cory Iverson had lost his life while battling the massive Thomas Fire that has consumed more than 200,000 acres.

The death of the husband and father touched the little girl’s heart, and she knew she wanted to do something to help.

That’s when she decided that she was going to donate her own chore money to help the families of firefighters killed or injured in the line of duty.

But knowing that wasn’t enough to really help, she suggested that the family keep a jar outside of their home to collect donations. What a warm-hearted little girl!

This little girl, Faye Segraves, is nothing short of amazing! We are all in tears because of her heart warming spirit,” foundation officials wrote in a Facebook post.

“She’s trying to reach her goal of $1000 which she started with her own chore money.

Her amazing efforts sparked a a MobileCause fundraising page, which has received more than $10,000 in donations so far!

Faye’s parents couldn’t be prouder of their little angel.

“She said it is more important for them to get toys to make them a little happier on Christmas,” Kylee said.

“Her daddy, my husband is currently fighting the Thomas fire and will likely miss Christmas this year.

We are really proud of her huge heart and I wanted to share the sweet story.

This touching story is a perfect example of what can be accomplished when we stop overthinking things and simply get it done instead.

Faye wanted to help, and she did just that in a big way. And her kind act inspired others to do the exact same thing, and to think long and hard about the sacrifices our heroes make.

There’s a valuable lesson in there for all of us, and we can thank this adorable five-year-old girl for it!
