Curious Cat Wanders Into Huge Bear’s Pen At The Zoo, Alarmed Visitors Freeze In Fear

Nature can be brutal and bloody.

It’s part of the natural order; it’s the harsh reality of the all-too-necessary food chain.

So, when employees at the Berlin Zoo heard about a cat that had accidentally wandered into Mäuschen’s enclosure, they figured the cat was a goner.

See, Mäuschen is an 800-pound Asiatic black bear, and tiny cats would normally be a nice little snack for her.

But when zoo employees arrived at the enclosure, they were stunned to find the cat – named Muschi – was still very much alive.

Not only was she alive, she apparently wasn’t in any danger at all. Had the bear not noticed her yet?

Oh, Mäuschen had indeed noticed the unexpected furry visitor, but the massive predator wasn’t interested in making Muschi a meal.

Nope, the huge bear just wanted to be pals!

The two quickly became inseparable, which might be one of the most surprising twists of nature we’ve ever heard of.

They became so attached to each other that seven years later, when the zoo went to expand the bear’s enclosure, they had to separate the two friends…

And both were just horribly depressed. They couldn’t stand being apart for so long!

Once work was done, Mäuschen and Muschi were reunited and the two have been together ever since.

Visitors to the zoo can now go to see a humongous bear playing gently with an adorable black kitty; it’s strange but it’s quite the sight!

Most zoo-goers think they’re going to see something awful when they spot Muschi roaming about in the bear den.

But then Mäuschen shows up, and he’s just so gentle with Muschi that everyone gets a big kick out of the exchange.

Friends for life, these two! Who’d a thunk it? 😉
