Cuddly Pup Disappears Into Thin Air – Owner Checks Security Footage And Calls The Cops

She turned around and – poof! – her beloved pet was gone!

That’s exactly what happened to Jo Hodge, and she was absolutely distraught.

Jo, who lives in Aukland, New Zealand, tied up her adorable cavoodle Bowie when she went into a local burger joint.

She could even see Bowie from inside the restaurant, and she’d done it many times before. So Jo wasn’t particularly worried.

But 30 seconds later, she emerged with her food, only to find that Bowie had disappeared!

Just gone into thin air … but how? Could he have actually gotten free? Given how Jo had him tied, that didn’t seem possible.

Then Jo noticed something disturbing:

It looked like someone had unclipped the dog’s leash. Had someone actually stolen the poor pup away…?

Well, Jo thought it might actually be possible, so she decided to check the restaurant’s security footage. And unbelievably enough, that’s exactly what happened:

Bowie had been stolen! As Jo told the Aukland Western Leader:

It’s like they came over to give her a pat to see if anyone would talk to them and say ‘oh yeah, that’s my dog,’ so it was quite sneaky I guess.

Sneaky? No, just terrible!

After Bowie, was stolen, Jo frantically started searching for her kidnapped pup. She put up posters and raised money for a reward, and that was just the tip of the iceberg.

But sadly, nothing worked. Three long months passed.

Then one day, Jo got a call from a local shelter. Her prayers had been answered: Bowie had been found!

And the embedded microchip in the dog’s skin confirmed it was indeed Jo’s, so it wasn’t long before Bowie was reunited with her long-lost owner.

Bowie looked a little scared and scruffy when he arrived at the shelter but otherwise, he was in decent health.

And the pup was SO happy to see Jo! His tail wagged like mad when Jo walked in, and that’s when he realized, his terrible ordeal was finally over!

But can you believe someone would actually steal a puppy? Who would even think to do such a thing?
