Every dog lover knows that our furry canine friends have an innate sense.

They can tell when humans are hurt or just feeling depressed, and they always seem to know when someone is in trouble.

For instance, one frigid Michigan night, a couple was sound asleep in their beds when suddenly, their two dogs started barking like crazy.

Their pups, two beautiful Labradoodles named Adam and Eva, kept barking at the door, and they just wouldn’t stop.

Lonnie and Susan Chester were forced to get out of bed and see why their loyal companions were so upset. As Susan told NBC News, “it was definitely out of the ordinary.”

Lonnie finally decided he had to open the door and when he did, Adam and Eva sped out into the driveway.

And there, lying on the ground in the icy 9-degree air, shivering all over, was an elderly woman wearing only a nightgown! Said Lonnie:

“She looked up at me and said, ‘I’m so cold.’

I have no idea how long she had been out there. She must have been terrified.”

It was their 89-year-old neighbor, who obviously was disoriented and needed help.

Lonnie quickly picked her up, brought her inside, and wrapped her in blankets to get her warmed up. Thankfully, she only suffered from a touch of frostbite.

All thanks to Adam and Eva! Added Susan:

“I do believe [the woman] was led to our house.

We think she saw the lights on our house and went toward our house because other than [the lights from] our house, it was really dark.”

And of course, the Chesters are very proud of their two alert pups, and are even surprised at just how intuitive they are:

“[We felt] just incredible, just incredibly proud, just amazed at these dogs and how sensitive they are. They just have super sensitivities.

They seem incredibly intelligent to me. They pick up on things, they’re really responsive, and [they’re] really tuned in dogs.”

Clearly! And the result is a saved life!
