You start out eating only what you should eat. You learn how to calorie count, carb count, how to read labels and you’re sure that this time, you’re going to do it.

You’re absolutely going to hit your goal!

And then reality sets in. Once you know you can’t have that piece of cake or that ice cream cone, your mouth starts watering for it.

Nothing else will do. Must. Have. Bad. Food. Now.

We’ve all been there. So, we can certainly all sympathize with 12-year-old Mya the Australian Shepherd who has decided she absolutely must have a cookie. NOW.

She’s been on her diet a month now and she’s been very good. She’s been losing weight.

So, she figures she at least a deserves a cookie…but mama says no.

“No, Mya. No more cookies.”

What began as a request turns into an argument. Then the argument escalates into a full-blown hissy fit.

Still, mama says “no more cookies” while Mya insists “must have a cookie!”

Mama finally offers an apple instead of the cookie Mya asked for. But Mya isn’t having it. An apple? No! COOKIE!

Watch the video and feel Mya’s pain; watch the reaction when mom reminds her “No, Mya, you’re on a diet.”

Sigh. We’ve all been there, right?

We’re not sure how this ends, but we sort of hope Mya gets a cookie.

She made us all smile, and really, mom, isn’t that worth a single bite of cookie for a very cute dog?
