What some people do to dogs overseas is just sickening.

Though major strides have been taken in countries like South Korea to protect our four-legged friends from such viciousness, horrid places like meat farms still exist.

That’s where Humane Society rescuers found Emily, a poor pooch locked up in a filthy cage on a dog meat farm.

Emily’s paws were swollen from being forced to stand on the wire floor all day long, and most of her hair was gone due to a severe – and painful – case of mange.

Proprietors of these nightmarish meat markets don’t care how the dogs are treated; they’re just going to be slaughtered, anyway.

And death might’ve been a sweet reprieve for Emily, who had obviously suffered greatly.

But the Human Society stepped in to stop everything; they rescued Emily along with over 130 other dogs “stored” at the amoral farm.

All the dogs were rushed to safety and given a second shot at life, and that includes the dog that was in such terrible condition, rescuers worried if she could be saved…

They needn’t have worried, however, because what lay beneath that suffering exterior of Emily was a beautiful dog. And a fighter!

She received treatment for her mange and her hair started to grow in, and better yet, she found a home with a great family in Florida.

No more cages. No more raw, painful, swollen paws. No more fear. Just a beautiful coat of hair, a hale and healthy body, and people who love her!

Emily now gets to enjoy life, and this is the kind of transformation that should bring a tear to your eye.
