These three guys decided to go crabbing in one friend’s little rowboat.

They had set out crab pots and were hoping that they would find them full when they went out to check; it had been a few days.

The young men, Steven Sloan, Michael Niccum and Eugene Dight, row out to the first couple of pots and come up empty-handed.

Then they head to the next one when suddenly, they see something in the distance making them all stop what they were doing.

They couldn’t tell what it was, but it was HUGE!

Having grown up on the coast of Anderson Island, they know it’s something none of them had ever seen before.

They sit very still just watching when suddenly, it starts heading right for them!

In just seconds it’s right beside their little rowboat and all three men have to admit they’re more than just a little scared…

What the heck IS this thing?!

Then its head popped up – it wasn’t one, but two baby orca whales!

One would come above the surface while the other stayed underwater checking out the boat.

It may seem like it would be thrilling but at the time, it was terrifying.

Stuck there in the small aluminum boat, they grabbed the oars to get moving and away from the huge creatures.

Such animals are, after all, killers!

The orcas followed along, but soon lost their curiosity and swam away.

The guys decided to forget about checking the rest of the crab pots day because they’d had plenty of excitement.

Time to head home and spin the yarn!
