Her owner, Rob Jerry, had just taken Sadie out for her morning walk, which the active pooch usually loves.

But Sadie just kept staring down the driveway, and she wouldn’t come when Jerry called.

That’s when Sadie’s owner followed his pet’s gaze … and he couldn’t believe what he saw!

From a distance, it looked like a hurt deer lying in the driveway.

“I thought that’s what she was just sitting there looking at,” Jerry said.

“And then I listened for a couple seconds and I could hear that it wasn’t a grunt it was a ‘help.’”

Then he got a little closer and realized with a shock:

It was his 89-year-old neighbor, Albert Larson!

The elderly man had fallen on his way to get the morning paper, and the fall had resulted in a broken hip.

That’s what Sadie had spotted and the instant Jerry saw the desperate man, he rushed inside to call 911.

As it turns out, Larson had been lying on the frozen driveway for some time; he’d tried to crawl back to his house, but he’d run out of energy.

Worse still, he’d become stuck to the ice! What an awful situation for an 89-year-old individual!

Well, as Jerry was inside making the life-saving phone call, Sadie held vigil by the injured neighbor’s side.

This is one loyal pooch that wasn’t about to let anything bad happen!

Sadie absolutely didn’t budge from Larson’s side while help was on the way. She was the protector!

And now, after Larson recovers from his harrowing experience, he and his wife will be able to celebrate their 69th wedding anniversary.

All thanks to one of mankind’s best friends … they just keep proving how important they are, don’t they?

Her name is Yang Caitou. She said that she got home from work one night at 11 p.m. and stayed outdoors to play with her pup, and then they went inside to get ready for bed.

The dog, named Ercheng, surprised her when he ran back out the door to go outside and started howling like crazy.

Yang started freaking out and ran outside to scold him.

The neighbors already didn’t like the dog since she took him in as a stray, and he was just five-months-old and still had a lot to learn.

She left the pup outside, and within one minute of going back in to take a bath, he started howling again! He was sitting in the middle of the street, head back, howling like his life depended on it.

So, she ran out to scold him again.

That’s when the earthquake hit…the 6.4 earthquake rocked the city!

Yang waited about 10 minutes before going back inside where she was met with devastation.

She was stunned when she saw her bathroom where she would have been if not for the howling pup – it was covered in shattered glass.

There’s no doubt she would have been injured or worse had she not gone out to scold her pup. Then she realized that he had just saved her life!

“Some people say that animals have precognition and this seems to be quite true.

Otherwise, I would already be in the bathroom at the time when the earthquake struck.

If I was bathing at that moment, I would not be able to escape when the glass shattered,” she said.

The neighbors praised the puppy for saving her life, and now they’re a little more understanding of the young guy.

It’s brutal and severe and even adults should never, ever go hiking alone.

And when a defenseless 2-year-old is left outside in the elements, the poor innocent creature has almost zero chance of survival.

In short, getting lost or abandoned out there essentially means death.

So when a totally evil woman abandoned her small child on a frigid cold Siberian night, nobody thought the little tyke was going to survive.

Even if they could reach him, temperatures were plummeting to -12 degrees Celsius (about 10 degrees Fahrenheit).

Almost nobody could survive, much less an infant…right?

Well, nobody told one hero dog that the situation was hopeless.

This amazing canine spotted the freezing child and quickly approached; seeing the little boy in tremendous distress, the dog knew what it had to do:

He quickly wrapped himself around the 2-year-old, imparting a lot of body heat and warmth thanks to his fur.

And there he stayed for two whole days, protecting the boy with his body.

Incredibly, neighbors finally found the pair and though the child was suffering from hypothermia, he was definitely alive!

The callous mother of that little boy is now up on charges, too, and she deserves nothing less than a stiff punishment.

Dogs rescuing children in dire straits seems to be par for the course in Siberia, though.

Three years earlier, a 3-year-old girl named Karina got lost in the wilderness with her dog. That dog eventually returned after 9 days and led rescuers to Karina!

Both children are alive and well today, all thanks to man’s best friend.

Doesn’t get much more miraculous than this!

A 10-year-old girl knows this better than most, as it’s likely her furry friend just saved her life.

The girl was out walking her dog in William County, Virginia when a mystery man approached her.

The man suddenly grabbed the girl’s arm and that’s when her loyal buddy sprang into action:

The dog leaped up and bit the man’s arm, which caused the would-be kidnapper to release the girl and disappear.

Thankfully, the little girl wasn’t injured and neither was the dog.

It’s unfortunate that the perpetrator is still at large but at least this girl will sleep safely tonight, and it’s all thanks to one heroic dog.

And the ironic part is that the police will be using their K-9 unit to check the area and hopefully hunt down the dangerous individual.

How many reasons are there to own a dog? About 38? More?
