Pup Goes Hiking With Mom – He Senses Danger And Seconds Later, Makes A Life-Saving Dive

When Paula Godwin and her two dogs went for a stroll, she didn’t expect anything crazy to happen.

But before she knew it, one of her loyal Golden Retrievers was saving her life!

Paula’s dogs, Todd and Copper, love to go hiking, like many dogs. But also like most dogs, they’re willing to put their lives on the line to protect their beloved owner.

Everything was going along swimmingly that morning, when suddenly, one of Paula’s pups leaped in front of her!

It all happened so quickly that Paula watched, frozen in fear, as her 6-month-old pooch jumped at a hidden menace…

A rattlesnake!

The rattlesnake lunged at Paula’s legs but at the last second, Todd stepped in front and absorbed the bite … like a true hero in a war movie! Unbelievable!

Paula was so stunned; she said she usually hears the telltale rattle of a rattlesnake but this time, she hadn’t heard anything.

If it hadn’t been for Todd, she most certainly would’ve gotten bit; as she tells the heroic saga on Facebook:

As we were walking down the hill I literally almost stepped on a rattlesnake.

But my hero of a puppy Todd saved me.

Of course, poor Todd was seriously injured and needed immediate medical assistance. Paula was quick to respond.

Todd was yelping right away, crying. I picked him up, ran down the hill with my other dog Copper, and we got him to the hospital within about 10 minutes of being bit.

He got the anti-venom quickly and was in the hospital for about 12 hours.

He for sure saved me from being bit. He’s my hero.

Imagine a puppy, a mere 6 months old, being so brave!

It just goes to show that some dogs will do absolutely anything for their owners; it’s instinctual. It’s exactly the reason why they’re “man’s best friend!”

And the good news is that Todd has fully recovered now and is ready and willing to play Super Dog again, if necessary.

Don’t you think this pup deserves some sort of reward? And be sure to share with all your friends who don’t believe these stories are real! 😀
