Spotting The Desperate, Starving Dog, Lacy Followed And Soon Discovered What It Was Hiding

Lacey was driving back home to Ohio after visiting her parents in Indiana.

That’s when she spotted something on the side of the snowy road, thinking it was a small deer.

But as she got closer, she noticed it wasn’t a deer at all, but a dog.

She thought it was weird to see it wandering on the highway, and it was really skinny.

She figured it was a stray that was struggling to look for food with the ground covered in snow, and tried to put it out of her mind.

But after she drove past, she made the decision to go back to see if she could help the poor pooch. So, she got off of the next exit and headed back to where she spotted the dog.

When she got back to the same spot, she didn’t see the dog anywhere. She pulled over and got out of her car, and that’s when she heard a dog barking nearby.

She followed the barking that led her off back into the woods to a shallow ditch by a creek…

When she looked in the ditch, three little faces popped up to see her. It was three adorable puppies!

They were shaking because they were so cold, and their tiny paws were wet from walking in the creek. They definitely weren’t going to make it out there.

She picked up the three pups and headed to her car. Mama dog followed behind her, anxious but thankful someone was finally helping.

Lacey turned on the heater in the car to let the mom and puppies get warm, and knew she didn’t have the heart to put them back out outside.

So she took them home with her deciding that she would find them all good homes.

She named the little pups Louie, Cinci, and Indy. She gave Mama dog the name of Red and the whole family is doing well.

This is exactly why we need such kind-hearted individuals like Lacey!

She can’t take all the pups in herself, so she’s Lacey is working with the Columbus Dog Connection to find them all loving homes.

Thanks to Lacey for stopping to help, not only saving the mother dog but her puppies as well.

They’ll now have wonderful lives full of love because you saved them, Lacey!

Imagine if she’d just kept driving…such a lucky twist of fate for these thankful canines. 🙂
