It’s a sad thing when children, human or animal, get separated.
Sometimes, it’s a truly terrible situation.
The babies are separated due to a broken family and they end up bouncing around mediocre (or worse) foster homes, then life takes a turn for the worse.
But other times, the children in question simply end up being raised in separate but loving homes.
That’s what happened with Venti Mocha and her puppy siblings, who were all part of an accidental litter.
The owner didn’t want the little pups so she gave them all up for adoption, and every last one of them managed to find a good home.
Venti Mocha’s sister, Penny, went elsewhere, but both were doing very well. Nicholas Beccari, Venti Mocha’s new dad, told The Dodo:
“Venti is full of energy and loves to play.
She chews on everything and is the most curious animal I’ve ever seen. But when she’s tired, she is basically a cuddly teddy bear and loves to follow us around.”
That all being said, Venti wasn’t very sociable with other dogs. She loved her owners but for some reason, she just didn’t take to other puppies.
Well, her new parents just happened to know the family that had adopted Venti’s sister, so they decided to get them together for a play date. Maybe that would help Venti’s anxiety.
But would Venti even recognize Penny as his sister…? And how would they react to each other?
As it turned out, Penny was super excited and obviously knew exactly who Venti was. The latter pup, on the other hand, seemed a little reserved and nervous at first.
Then came the moment when he obviously realized exactly who she was and then…magic!
“Venti was a little standoffish at first like she normally is around dogs, but warmed up eventually,” Beccari said.
“Penny was pretty persistent so I’m sure that helped.”
This playdate was a huge success. Penny really coaxed Venti out of her shell and both had a grand time; both families fully intend to let them hang out together more often.
And hopefully, this will teach Venti that she doesn’t have to be nervous around other dogs. Just be her adorable, playful self!
Finished Beccari:
“I know they probably don’t see it as super important, but I’m happy that she has at least one sibling that she can see every now and again.“
Absolutely. 🙂
