Vet Has A Superb Idea Of How To Help A Depressed Mama Horse After Her Baby Is Stillborn

Veterinarian Dr. Patrick Brogan was frantically summoned to a nearby farm, where he found a retired horse named Zindita.

She was in labor and in great distress; obviously, something wasn’t right.

Dr. Brogan knew there was no way she was going to be able to deliver the foal without help.

So, he tried his best to help deliver that baby horse but unfortunately, despite the doctor’s very brave efforts, the poor baby was stillborn.

Zindita was so depressed over losing her foal. It was sad to watch, but what could anyone do?

Dr. Brogan had a possible answer just two days later when he was called to another farm, to deal with another problem birth.

This time the mother horse tragically died while giving birth, but the foal survived.

He knew immediately that he had to try to pair Zindita and the foal.

Hopefully, it would fill the void of her losing her baby, and the foal would have the love that only a mother could provide.

But it was yet to be seen if it would work…

He took the little foal to meet Zindita and it was love at first sight!

Dr. Brogan said that she was immediately “in love and desperate to take her,” so it was clear that her mother’s instincts kicked right in!

He posted the following photo and caption on Facebook and it quickly went viral.

“Two days ago, a group of people came together, working as a team… Saving a mare in labor but losing the foal…

Today a group of people, working together, the same mare as two days ago, was introduced to a foal who had lost her mom….

This picture is taken an hour after the introduction…. It speaks for itself.”
