When a pedestrian in Cardiff, Wales spotted a zipped-up purse lying on the ground, they just assumed it was a typical lost-and-found situation.
Well, someone had indeed “lost” something … but it wasn’t just a purse!
When the passerby approached the purse, it suddenly started to move and twist about; it was if it had a mind of its own.
Obviously, something was alive inside and desperately trying to get out!
The resident quickly knelt down and unzipped the bag, and out popped a furry friend who was very thankful that someone had rescued her.
It was a kitten!
The poor thing had been stuffed into a bag and left to suffocate, which is beyond evil. Thankfully, though, the Good Samaritan had arrived just in time.
The next step involved getting the abandoned kitty some help, which in this case was the RSPCA.
And one of the inspectors, Annie Simmonds, just couldn’t believe the story she’d heard. Who could’ve done such a thing?
“I feel shock and dismay that anyone would deem it acceptable to treat a kitten in such a cruel and dangerous manner.
She must have been absolutely terrified.”
The kitten was only 20 weeks old and Simmonds rushed her to the vet, to see if the poor feline had suffered any physical problems on account of her imprisonment.
But the good news was that there was nothing wrong with her, and she turned out to be one of the friendliest, cuddliest kittens ever!
Even so, the RSPCA remains infuriated over the treatment of this fine animal, and continue to investigate. Said Simmonds:
“We’re desperate for anyone with information related to this awful abandonment to contact our inspectorate appeal line.
Calls can be made on 0300 123 8018 — and we’d urge anyone who knows something about how this kitten came to be trapped in this bag to contact us.”
Really, how could anyone do this to such a beautiful creature? All animal lovers out there are outraged, and rightfully so!
