Nervous Kitty Watches Monitors At The Vet’s Office – When She Sees The Results, She Freaks

By
They’re almost human, aren’t they?
Our pets are often very expressive creatures; they typically wear their hearts on their sleeves. Attentive owners know exactly what their furry friends are feeling.
Of course, nobody had to guess at what little Ulla was feeling when she got some surprising news at the vet’s office!
Ulla is a young tabby cat that was rescued from the cold streets of Nuuk, Greenland, and brought to the Dyrenes Venner shelter (that translates to “Protector of Animals,” by the way).
Strays have it rough in the unforgiving environment of Greenland, as Dyrenes Venner board member Inunnguaq Christiansen said:
“Stray and lost cats have a really tough time during the winters up here.
With freezing temperatures and frequent storms, they often have to seek shelter in the basements of older buildings.”
It was a darn good thing they found Ulla when they did!
Volunteers were happy to find that this particular homeless animal wasn’t afraid of anyone; in fact, she was “lovely and caring” and very much enjoyed the company of both humans and animals.
…and perhaps that’s why she was in a certain … situation. A situation nobody knew about.
Shelter workers started to notice that Ulla had put on some weight, and in a very specific region. Said Christiansen:
“One of the volunteers came with the comment that Ulla was getting pretty big.
Upon closer inspection, it was only around the belly area, and her nipples were getting pretty stiff.”
Ulla was taken to the vet and that’s where they ran the necessary test: an ultrasound.
Sure enough, this one-year-old kitty was about to become a mom, and very soon!
But the best part of the proceedings was Ulla’s reaction to the news, which another shelter board member captured perfectly with a few well-timed photos.
She looks exactly like a human woman would look if she found out she were pregnant (and wasn’t expecting it)!
And these images have gotten some serious attention online, as just a few hours after they landed on Reddit, they’d received over 90,000 upvotes and nearly 900 comments!
Best of all, those images helped Ulla – and her babies – find a new home with a foster family!
Things have turned out awfully well for this former stray, but it’s her expression that turned her into a timeless internet legend. 🙂
